A bit about Chloeann K

I recently graduated from my degree at the University of Cumbria, where I gained a 1st class degree in Primary teaching with SEND and inclusion, BA (Hons). I am also currently studying my PGCE. I’ve been teaching primary students for the last 4 years online as well as in the classroom in all subjects across the national curriculum. I have extensive subject knowledge as well as a flexible teaching style which I adapt to suit the needs o each pupil. I specialise in primary teaching with special needs, and have studied to be able to teach children in each subject. My favourite subjects to teach are English, Science, and History. I always start my lessons with something fun and engaging to make sure everyone is concentrating and in a good mood to be able to learn. I then go on to doing the “teaching” where I get to give new information. I then always do activities to make the learning sink in. I will always try my best to bring children’s interests into what we are learning to make it more fun and relatable. I started teaching and tutoring 4 years ago although I am new to Sherpa. With History I love seeing the interest grow around the topic and how excited children get when learning about the past! In English it’s more to do with how proud students get when they learn to do something new or they finally understand something! My teaching style changes depending on the pupil. I’m very easy going and enjoy having fun with the students. Learning should be interesting and enjoyable - it shouldn’t be a chore! Seeing children improve and learn. The fact that I can help them progress is amazing. Seeing them having fun and enjoying themselves but learning at the same time, it’s why I do my job. That everyone should be able to learn what they want to. That no matter where someone comes from, they should have access to learning in a fun way. We should be making life long learners not just temporary. How I listen to what they want to do and take into account their interests. What’s the point in doing basic lessons that people won’t enjoy? Children should want to learn and be excited to do so.
