A bit about Shad H

I am a final year Robotics Engineering Student at the University of Bath pursuing an integrated Masters in Engineering. Last year, I undertook a 12-month placement at Northrop Grumman, where I worked as a system test and automation engineer. As I have numerous younger siblings, I have always enjoyed tutoring and have learned to adapt to teaching styles that best suit my tutees’ style of learning. Maths and physics can be challenging for many and I like to show my tutees that when things are simplified down and explained well, they don’t have to be as intimidating as they first seem. I used to struggle in many of the areas of these subjects which I now love, because I was fortunate to get teachers who could adapt to my style of learning and allow me to understand things more clearly. I would like to pass on such quality teaching to my tutees. Initially, I like my tutees to establish their problem areas. From this I plan the best steps forward to improve on those areas of difficulty. Once a topic has been covered, I allow my tutees to decide to either continue further with it or move on to the next. In order to ensure the tutees are confident on the topics that have been covered, I plan out consolidation sessions later on to double check that the material has been understood. I enjoy playing sports such as basketball, football, swimming, and rugby. I also enjoy drawing and painting - a hobby I have persisted with since a very young age!
