A bit about Ginny N

My name is Ginny, I have been a teacher for 15 years in both the mainstream and special needs sectors. I am passionate about children and teaching them in ways that suit them. I believe that if children like their teacher and are in a supportive, calm space they will access their learning better. I like to have fun! I create interesting and enjoyable sessions where children forget they are learning. Everyone has a different learning style that suits them and I believe in finding that style and working with it to support the learning of each pupil. I use a mixture of practical activities, worksheets, and interactive games. For as long as I can remember I played 'teacher', I dreamt of writing on whiteboards and marking books! Ultimately I became a teacher because I love working with children. I believe that's where my talents lie. I like to be silly, make sessions fun and tailor learning to each child. I think each child can access learning if it is adapted to their needs and style of learning- and that's my aim! I love that my tutor sessions are 1:1, I get to tailor my lessons specifically to one child and can adapt it easily as I go. If you get stuck- we can go over and over it in as many different ways as you need! It also really helps to build the confidence of the children I tutor because they can ask me as many questions as they need and there is no judgment and no such thing as a silly question!
