A bit about Abi

My teaching style is based around each student with a focus on building confidence. I have worked with a wide age range of students from 5 years old to adult learners in a range of subjects. I am flexible to the needs of the student and like to get to know my students well so that they feel at ease during the lessons and can focus on the subject matter. I am a qualified teacher with over 10 years of experience in education and childcare. Over the years, I have worked in a variety of roles including as a teacher, 1:1 SEN teaching assistant, and an outdoor education provider. As well as my PGCE in Primary Education, I also have a Masters in Music Performance and a BSc in Psychology. This breadth of experience helps me to adapt to each students' needs and gives me a lot of knowledge to draw from. Whilst I loved working as a teacher, I really enjoy tutoring as it gives the opportunity to provide support in a way that suits each learner. I love getting to know each student, figuring out which area they need help in, what style of learning best suits them and creating lessons that match these. Outside of teaching, I love to garden and sing (only occasionally at the same time). As well as tutoring, I run children's nature, wildlife and gardening classes. I also have a young son who likes to keep me busy and active.
