A bit about Claire N

Students enjoy my lessons, they have fun and they learn. I am genuinely interested in my students' responses to texts and in their ideas. I tailor my tuition to suit the individual's unique learning style and their interests. I am approachable and a good listener. I have taught in Independent schools for many years, achieving examination success at both A level and GCSE with a broad range of learners. i have lots of SEND experience and have tutored in person and online alongside my classroom teaching. I have been an examiner for GCSE and A level English Language and Literature with AQA, OCR and IGCSE. I love reading books and watching plays and sharing those experiences. My favourite thing about being a tutor is when a student understands a concept or masters a skill which has been evading them in class and they light up. That gives me a real feeling of success. I also enjoy it when a student makes a point that about a text that I haven't encountered before: it's rare but it happens!
