A bit about Meriel B

I have BA (Hons) in English language and a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) from the University of East Anglia. I am a fully qualified teacher and have taught for 5 years in Norfolk and Hackney, London. Hello! I am currently based in north London with my partner and our dog, Sprout. After 5 years teaching full time, I have been out of the classroom for one year and currently work for a children's reading charity. We support schools across the country. However, I am really missing teaching and putting my skills to good use! I continue to hold an enhanced DBS. My lessons are always structured around the needs of the class/child. Skills and knowledge are built sequentially, but revisited where necessary to ensure they are embedded. With the right support, all children can excel. It is important to inspire and encourage confidence in children; for them to give things a go and to learn from them.
