A bit about Zainb A

Hello! I'm Zainab Ali, currently in my third year studying Food and Human Nutrition at Newcastle University. With a strong academic foundation that includes A* in Mathematics, A in Biology, and A in Chemistry at A-levels, I'm well-equipped to assist students in these subjects. My journey into tutoring began early in my university career when I started helping students with maths and science, a passion that led me to teach Arabic to young children at an Arabic school. My friends at school always admired my ability to explain complex concepts, and their success in exams thanks to my assistance inspired me to pursue tutoring further. What I enjoy most about my degree is the intersection of biology and food science, which aligns perfectly with my love for exploring the nutritional aspects of the foods we eat. I'm excited to bring my enthusiasm and knowledge to tutoring, guiding students in their academic journeys and helping them excel in my favorite subjects. I specialise in several key subjects, drawing from both my academic pursuits and tutoring experience. My primary areas of expertise lie in mathematics and science, where I have been tutoring students of all levels since my first year at university. These subjects have always been a strong suit for me, as evidenced by my A* in Mathematics and A grades in Biology and Chemistry at A-levels. Additionally, I have experience teaching Arabic to young learners, which has allowed me to develop effective communication and teaching skills. As a Food and Human Nutrition student, I'm particularly passionate about biology and food science, making these subjects another area of specialisation. My diverse background enables me to offer comprehensive support and guidance to students in these subjects, helping them achieve their academic goals. My lesson planning revolves around a student-centered philosophy. I begin by seeking input from my students, understanding their specific learning needs and preferences, which allows me to tailor each lesson accordingly. During the one-hour sessions, I create visually engaging slides containing the core content of the subject, ensuring clarity and structure in my presentations. The first half of the lesson is dedicated to explaining the subject matter thoroughly, using straightforward language and real-world examples to facilitate comprehension. In the second half, I introduce exam-style questions to assess and solidify their understanding. Collaboratively discussing solutions and addressing any misconceptions fosters active learning. Regular assessment and feedback, as well as adaptability to students' unexpected questions or additional needs, are key elements in my approach. Finally, I assign homework or practice exercises related to the lesson, reinforcing the material and ensuring its retention. This holistic approach aims to empower my students to grasp complex concepts and succeed in their academic endeavors I began my tutoring journey in September 2021.
