A bit about Andrew R

I've always enjoyed maths - the clarity of it, and the way it can express a complicated idea in a simple equation. But I also enjoy teaching it. It's so satisfying to see a student suddenly grasp a concept that they have been struggling with. I specialise in problem-solving: usually with maths there are multiple ways of achieving a goal. If you're struggling to understand something, let's look at it from a different angle. I take a collaborative approach. We'll focus on whatever you're struggling with, and I'll adapt my style to fit yours. People learn in different ways, at different speeds, and we'll absolutely work to your requirements, making sure you fully understand a concept before moving on. Outside of maths, my passions are music and sport. I play piano, guitar, drums, trumpet and trombone, and love rock music. I also play rugby. Students enjoy my interactive approach. I'm a tutor, not a teacher, so I'm not going to lecture you - we'll work together to develop a plan centred on the student's specific problem areas, and then attack them from all angles until they are completely comfortable with them, always working at their pace.
