A bit about Hiba

My lessons usually start out with a fun activity such as a quiz or a matching game to help gain a better understanding of the student current knowledge on the subject and to find out where their knowledge gaps are. Then the lesson will continue with us going through these knowledge gaps to try and correct any misunderstanding followed but either attempting an exam question or marking and exam question together. This helps the student gain an insight to what examiners are looking for. I like to set small achievable goal to ensure that students remain motivated. My lessons over all ensure that the student feels more confident on the topic then when they came in to the lesson and this boost in confidence is key. Hi my name is Hiba, I am 20 years old and eager to share my knowledge for the benefit of others. I am a Moroccan women that moved to the UK at a young age and am currently in my last year of Bio veterinary sciences at my university. Although my passion and aspirations in life are to become a successful veterinary surgeon with my own practice, along the way in many occasions have found myself attracted to teaching, whether that is playing teaching games with my sister when we were young or volunteering at primary school. I see teaching as a way to give back to my community and to not only succeed alone but to succeed collectively. The joy and confidence that is instilled in a students when they figure out an answer or start to understand a topic is something I will try my best to help achieve. I believe that the great understanding i have of sciences, gained through doing well in GCSE science and continuing to do A-level biology, A-level chemistry as well as my heavily science based degree, with be key to help my student improve and achieve the grades they desire. Students that I have worked with in the past particularly love my calm approach to teaching. The energy I give of is very positive and this provides students with a safe environment to learn in where they are not afraid of making mistakes and asking questions. As well as that the way I teach and plan my lessons means that the student is constantly being challenged and learning new things. This helps retain their attention and maintain motivation level for the duration of the lesson.
