A bit about Vicky F

Hello my name is Vicky, I am a Qualified Secondary Science teacher (QTS) with a diverse range of teaching and scientific experience. Following my A-levels (Biology, Chemistry, Maths, P.E). I completed 1 year of Medicine at Birmingham University before changing to a Natural Sciences degree. Following this, I earned an athletic scholarship to study 2 Masters degrees in America (University of Virginia) in Curriculum and Instruction for Secondary Science and Education Policy. I have worked in Secondary Science in the UK for 2 years, teaching KS3, GCSE (all science) and A level (in Biology). Additionally, I have used my scientific knowledge/skills in business, working in pharmaceutical market research and data analysis. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE). One year of Medicine completed from University of Birmingham. B.Sc Natural Science 2:1 from University of Birmingham M.Ed, Masters Education in Curriculum and Design (specializing in Secondary Science Teaching) from University of Virginia (US) M.Ed, Masters Education in Higher Education Policy from University of Virginia (US) I aim to make the lessons personalized and engaging for my students. Science is a fascinating and creative subject and I want my lessons to bring this to life! I work with my students to understand their strengths, weaknesses and interests and adapt my teaching style and lessons to ensure they are personalized for their needs. I use a planned and structured approach, incorporating best practices learned from my further education (2 masters degree in Education Curriculum Design). I am a keen athlete and runner. When I was younger I played international level sports, and represented England in netball and athletics. I now compete just for fun/ a challenge in marathons and ultra marathons around the world. I am also love to learn new things/skills (Currently, I'm trying to learn some coding skills!)
