A bit about Louise W

I have been teaching English to mixed ability and SEN students aged 11-18 for over fifteen years and have worked as a head of department, a GCSE examiner (AQA, Eduquas and OCR) and a literacy lead with SEN pupils. I have a degree in literature, a PGCE, a master's in business and a postgraduate diploma in psychology. I specialise in key stage 3 English, GCSE English language and literature (including GCSE resit) and A-level literature. I will break down the jargon of mark schemes and exam papers to make them accessible, and deliver personalised lessons that give the student confidence and a secure examination technique. I am a published and self-published author of several novels, from women's fiction, and thrillers to horror. I also dabble in writing poetry and flash fiction. The craft of writing is enjoyable, and an excellent learning experience to pass on to my students. I enjoy reading all kinds of genres, spending time on our farm with the calves, an ex-battery hen, our cat and dog, and volunteering at the local animal sanctuary.
