A bit about Michiel W

I have worked in a number of primary and middle schools for over 20 years. I always loved being in the classroom with my pupils and even as a head of school you'd often find me wandering the corridors chatting with the students. I am always firm but fair and am also really fun and have an excellent sense of humor. I always like to get to know my students, find out what interests them and then build their learning around that. At the start of my lessons I like to have a quick catch-up, do some fun warm-up activities and then get straight on to the learning. My key skill is picking up what is holding my pupils back and quickly helping them to resolve that so that the can progress with their learning. I am very encouraging and always leave my students feeling like they can learn and master anything! I am a primary specialist and can teach all subject across the 4-11 age range. As well as that I consider myself to be a mathematics, computer science and science specialist. I started tutoring in primary schools when I was head of school and no longer had a class. I ran small groups and 1:1 sessions for three afternoons a week. I carried this out for around 5 years. I have also tutored the children of friends and family.
