A bit about Swarnali A

Hello, my name is Swarnali! I’m a first year at the University of Liverpool, studying BSc Orthoptics with Hons. I have lots of experience in tutoring, particularly in KS3 and GCSE science. I’m friendly but motivating; I hope to make tutoring an enjoyable experience for you 😊 GCSE grades achieved: Biology, Chemistry, Physics: 8,8,8 Mathematics: 8 English Lit & Lang: 9 I have a strong knowledge across the sciences, as well as in English. I have tutoring experience in KS3 Biology and Chemistry, GCSE Biology, GCSE Chemistry, GCSE and A Level Psychology. We will spend 5-10 minutes on a warm up or starter. This can be short exam questions or MCQs. We will then proceed on a topic that you have chosen to focus on. It will be summarised and broken down so it can be understood well. We will finish off the lesson with a quiz or exam questions to consolidate your learning 😊🧠 I started tutoring younger pupils since I was in Year 12. I was part of the STEM committee in my school so we wanted to establish a tutoring network to support pupils in our school. I was a teaching assistant in year 12, which required me to tutor outside of lesson time to students with special education needs. I became a Chemistry tutor in year 13, where I focused on Year 10 and Year 11 students; now I am currently in my year of university! I have always had a profound interest in science, it has always intrigued me as it shows that even the most minuscule things have complex processes behind them! I want to share my passion with different students and help them love it as much as I do! Hybrid/ blended learning. I believe that giving my students an active role in their learning gives them the opportunity to achieve better results and produce better learning habits that they can use later on. The victory students feel after learning a new concept. Or even better, when students overcome a learning obstacle they have been having. It makes me so glad and happy I could be there with them, along the journey. No spoon feeding, only encouragement and a push in the right direction! It helps students become independent, and set them on a path to be self reliant when it comes to learning. However, if they need help, I am there to answer however many questions they have! Helping a student who did not enjoy GCSE Chemistry and was expected to achieve a 4, achieve a 7 in their mock and genuinely enjoying Chemistry. GCSE Biology, Chemistry, English, Geography, Mathematics, Physics, Psychology, Religious Studies, Spanish and A Level Biology, Chemistry, Psychology. Currently studying BSc Orthoptics I had lots of spare time during sixth form, so I wanted to use some of that time ob something rewarding; teaching younger students. This also helped me get to know younger students, which was important for my role as a STEM Committee leader.
