A bit about Miss A

I am a primary school teacher who has a passion for making learning fun and easy for all children! I currently teach in Year 3 but I have taught children between the ages of 4-11. I specialise in all primary subjects. I Tutor children who need help with primary English, Maths and Phonics. Typically we will start off with a quick starter activity for 5/10 minutes. The main part of the lesson will have a main focus, with breaks included. Will end with any questions/ homework activities. I’ve been tutoring children for about 5 years. Teaching English is a great way to improve vocabulary and share ideas. The various writing skills and techniques allow children to become creative writers. Maths is a great subject which becomes fun once you master a strategy. Maths is part of our everyday lives! Phonics is the stepping stone to so much learning and understanding. I love to watch how younger children progress through the teaching and learning of phonics. My main goal is to make learning fun and easy. I know how hard it can be for children to understand something that is tricky. My job is to help/ guide you through any learning challenges you have and develop the fantastic skills you already have! I love to watch when a child finally has that lightbulb moment! The moment when they realise learning can be fun and easy. Through hard work and practise :) Education is the key that unlocks your door to success. Education is the pathway which helps you navigate the world around you :) Most of my students mention that they love our end of unit quizzes which is based on all the things we have learnt. They also appreciate the movement breaks I give them in every session. I love reading, cooking and going on long walks. I studied English Literature, Philosophy and Ethics and Sociology at A Level. I then went on and achieved a 2:1 in an Education and Social Science degree. Followed by Qualified Teacher Status training.
