A bit about Muhammad U

As an experienced educator with 10 years of diverse global and local experience I am fully confident to apply my knowledge and skills and develop students' academically. Working in the education sector for over 10 years made me fully aware of the challenges and needs of learners. Over the years of my professional experience, I have developed and excelled in various skills including interpersonal, strong communication, leadership, working independently and in teams, negotiation , self-management, and strong problem-solving and analytical skills. I have been working for several years conducting Maths intervention sessions and tutoring sessions. My role is to facilitate students who are struggling academically and demonstrating social and behavioural issues in mainstream classes. This allows me to build strong relationships and guide them to overcome their challenges. In my current role at Aston University Engineering Academy I am responsible to plan, deliver, support intervention lessons and help them to understand the content in a more accessible way, thus enabling them to achieve desired GCSE results. I analyse the previous assessment data and produce a personalised plan for each individual. Conducting formal assessments, marking and keeping track of students’ progress, reporting and working collaboratively with the curriculum leader is part of my role. My lessons are planned keeping in mind the needs of the learner ensuring that the support they receive enables them to achieve their goals. I choose resources that are rich, visual in nature that helps them understand abstract concepts of Maths easily. I started tutoring journey overseas after I graduated from the University. I did tutoring on and off for number of years. In the past, I tutored students from Primary, Secondary and College Level. My tutoring enabled my students to secure admission in the University of their choice. Currently, I am consistently tutoring students in the UK face to face and online from more than a year. I love Maths from early days of my school and always secured great grades. This motivated me to help students achieve their academic goals. I enjoy sharing Maths' rules and concepts to my students as they are universal and can not be mended. My teaching style is student-centred, I acknowledge the students' strengths and areas of development and tailor my lessons accordingly. Modelling technique is the most widely used by me, as it helps me demonstrate the best practices in solving various problems. I begin the lesson by assigning the learners starter activity that enable them to focus on the previous learning and demonstrate their understanding. I frequently use I do, You do and We do technique in my teaching. My favourite thing about being a tutor is helping learners to overcome challenges that they might face. Supporting students achieve the success that they deserve and facilitating them to attain their academic goals. I have Chemical Engineering degree and Teacher Training degrees from overseas. Being an experienced educator I started realising the importance of technology in the education sector. This sparked my interest in technology integration in the classroom and my belief was further strengthened in enabling students with personalised learning using technology. This led me to gain world recognised certifications such as Microsoft Education Trainer and Google Certified Trainer. These certifications turned out to be exceptionally helpful when the pandemic started and reliance on digital platforms increased tremendously. Leading the project of rolling out Microsoft Office 365 Suite and enabling the school to conduct synchronous learning via Microsoft Teams during the pandemic was one of my greatest achievements. My teaching philosophy revolves around the students' success. I ensure that my teaching is purposeful, reflective and goal-oriented. I believe success of my teaching is based on the following blocks: Knowledge, curiosity and critical thinking. I strongly believe that all students are unique and capable of achieving their goals if provided with stimulating educational environment. I try to ensure that students are given with an environment which prepares them to meet their full potential. My student thinks that my teaching is helping them and they are progressing to the desired level. One of my BTEC Engineering student always admire my teaching style and speak about it to other colleagues. One of my greatest achievement is to work on a project to establish an International School (Kingston College) in Lahore. I led a team of curriculum developers as supervisor reviewing curriculum, maximising their potential and output, and providing mentorship. My team was responsible for hiring the local and international workforce, and liaising with leading local marketing and event management organisations and international educational organisations such as International Baccalaureate (IB). My interest in Maths inspired me to become a teacher and making a difference in young people's lives gives my an immense pleasure. AQA and Edexcel Spending time with family and watching TV
