A bit about Ruby C

Hi! I’m currently in my gap year, just moved to Barcelona to learn Spanish before I start a maths degree. I’ve been tutoring maths and science for over 2 years and have taught from year 4 to year 13. I have a lot of experience tutoring students with a range of maths levels and tutored students with dyslexia and dyscalculia. I taught myself 4 a levels, achieving an A * in maths. It’s really important to me to help improve students self esteem with maths and science that maybe school hasn’t been so encouraging. Additionally, for students aiming high and need an extra challenge I can support them in learning content faster and above the syllabus. Every student is different and will need a different approach to maths or physics. If my students know exactly what they need help with they can let me know and we can go through those topics. Of course that’s not always the case, especially in primary. I’m very familiar with the content from ks2 to A level so within our lesson we can figure out where best to start. In gcse and a level, i can take a look at your most recent past paper too. In our lessons, we will do a lot of practise questions together and I’ll explain topics before and during and at any time students are free to ask questions or ask to do other topics, whatever they need help with. It’s up to the student if they’d like me to help them make a revision plan and set homework, completely optional as school work can be enough too. Having a younger sister with dyslexia, i would always see her struggling with maths and would sit with her to explain things in a way that makes sense to her. A lot of the time i think the way they teach maths in school doesn’t really work for every one. I understand being on the other side, not fully understanding when in school. It was only when i started teaching myself did I really enjoy learning. I really enjoy helping other students find the way they learn best too, as there is no one way that fits everyone. I’m very flexible with exam boards as most gcse maths syllabuses are very similar as well as the a level syllabus. I usually tutor students ranging from year 4 to year 13.
