A bit about Nicholas A

I prefer to lead my students towards finding their own solutions rather than just demonstrating. This said, I use a fairly traditional method of assessment, often using exam questions to discover what topics need special attention. I like to choose questions from standard textbooks to help with these. Working mostly 1-1 or in small groups, I have the opportunity to discover and respond to the particular and special needs of my learners. This involves both empathy and sensitivity. I have three years of experience doing this online in Mathematics. I have almost 50 years experience doing this as a piano teacher. I have a PGCE in Post Compulsory Mathematics with Numeracy from UCL. I have a Graduate Diploma in Mathematics Education from the OU. I have a MSc. in Mathematics from the OU. I have a BSc. in Computing and Mathematical Sciences from the OU. I have a BA (Hons) Open from the OU. I have a Piano teacher's Diploma from MAZ Zurich
