A bit about Adil A

I have worked with more than 1000 students. I have helped boost their confidence, advise them on their next steps and supported them to secure the grades they want. I am passionate about teaching and use research and my experience to teach. Students often comment on how easy maths is after I have taught them a topic. My teaching changes depending on the student and follows the following structure and roughly how much time it takes in a lesson. - establish what the student knows already (2 minutes) - use my own knowledge and experience to identify the next step(s) for the student to improve (30 seconds) - a great explanation building exactly on where the students knowledge is up to - examples and practice together - varying of questions to keep students thinking and to avoid misconceptions -revision of things the student has learnt previously - if the student doesn't know a topic that they should, I make a note of this and plan to cover it in a future lesson - full lesson notes are kept and can be shared with parents. Talking to the students, being kept up-to-date on how they are finding school, talking to them about how their various subjects are going and helping them be reflective. Then finally, seeing them make progress as the weeks go on and become confident and happy learners. Teaching is about identifying what the student already knows, what they want or need to know and finding the best possible way for them to there, through great explanations, confidence building and the realisation that for learning to take place material has to be revisited regularly.
