A bit about Natalie B

• Started as an NQT at Maricourt Catholic School. • Awarded a Grade 1 within my AMP SCITT teacher training course • Achieved a Distinction within my MA leading for Educational Advantage assignment at Liverpool Hope University • Created several schemes of work for KS3, KS4 and KS5. These schemes of work were requested by Maricourt Catholic High school for their sharing file. • Gained experience of working with pupils with various SEN needs, including some challenging behaviour. • Worked with pupils who are Most Able/Most Able Rep for the English department. • Can implement a varying degree of learning styles into lessons to differentiate the needs of all learners. • Carried formative and summative assessment for KS4 GCSE marking, using the curriculum success criteria • Recorded all forms of summative and formative assessment for KS3 in a Bronze, Silver or Gold format, which were used for planning, target setting and necessary intervention. • Year 11 GCSE intervention, targeting particular students that were struggling and weak and helping them in preparation for exams. • Took over a Year 11 class for a member of staff who was on long term leave. Marking and moderating for CAG English GCSEs. • Preparing and delivering lessons for Year 13 English Lit/Lang, monitoring and teaching Year 13 for NEA coursework and teaching for the English Language and Literature AQA Paper. Marking and moderating for CAGs. • Monitored gaps in learning and acted on the gaps though next steps, assessment and intervention. • Started a reading intervention for weak readers in Year 7 – this is extra curriculum after school and intervention also. Intervention proven successful with reading ages going up. • Remote learning for all years over lockdown. • Key Stage 3, 4 & 5 Teacher who specialises in English Literature and Language KS3 Reading specialist • Incorporate ICT and modern technology into most of my lessons through the use of PowerPoint, YouTube and iPads. • Very personable, firm but fair behaviour management approach, which has enabled me to quickly build a very good and positive rapport with both colleagues and pupils. • Experience of working within a non-religious school and Catholic school. • Experience in successfully managing a range of challenging behaviour, adopting appropriate strategies to suit. • Experience of working with Gifted and Talented pupils I started my teacher training September 2020, and I am now a fully qualified teacher. I would say my lessons are methodical and straight forward, with a fun twist! Lessons are based on assessment objectives, success criteria and model answers. With the basic structure of a starter, main activity and some form of plenary. For example for GCSE and A Level, we would go through a past paper, do a step by step walk through response lesson. However for KS3 we would take a more fun approach, I have many schemes of work to cater to all my clients. I can also help those improve their writing and reading skills, this applies for KS3 leading upto KS5.
