A bit about Harvey G

I have taught computer science, maths and physics to A level standard for over 25 years in UK independent and state schools as well as serving as an examiner for a major exam board. My specialty is in computer science, IT , maths and physics to A level / IB level. I also have extensive experience with SEND students tutoring. I typically run 1 hour lessons on a 1-1 remote basis, reviewing the student’s skill and developing their confidence in the area they require guidance. I use a mixture of past paper questions, quizzes and interactive media to assist. I have been a teacher and tutor since 1999. Giving confidence to students who may lack this and developing their knowledge to allow them to achieve their goals. I focus on the key skills required using a variety of traditional and interactive tools to allow a student to learn in their preferred style. Interacting with students who want to learn and creating a supportive and nurturing environment. Providing an encouraging and understanding environment where all students can achieve. Discovering that they can achieve and be successful students. Nurturing SEND students through common entrance and on to GCSE / A level success. I’m a post graduate with a degree in Physics, a member of the institute of physics, chartered physicist, PGCE and fully qualified teacher with over 25 years classroom and leadership experience. I was lucky to have excellent teachers as role models and that led me to becoming an educator. I enjoy many out door activities and travelling. I have taught all main stream exam boards over the years , recently focused on Edexcel and OCR. My specialism is in the age range 11-18+.
