A bit about Tara P

I’m passionate about teaching and retrained from having a career in law to being a tutor and secondary school teacher. Law, Politics, History, International Relations, English, French, Spanish & linguistics. I will start with a lesson plan, clear objectives, engagement with my students and then a plenary to ensure students have achieved the desired learning outcome. July 2007. AQA, Edexcel, Eduqas. Reading, cycling and baking. Seeing what a difference a great teacher can make to a young person’s future. I realised that having all the qualifications and real world experience I have meant I could give back and enlighten students. Teaching how my subject can be fun, interesting and engaging. Active learning, engaging, diverse in the range of activities. I’m approachable and clear in my communication. Degree, Masters, GDL, LPC, PGCE and QTS. One of my students went on to be become a teacher and another a lawyer from what they learn from me. Working with young people, imparting knowledge and transferring my passion from the subject. Practise makes progress and nothing comes without hard work plus perseverance. I’m positive, calm and clear. I follow up and check understanding regularly.
