Students appreciate my dedication to making lessons fun, subject knowledge (I was a GCSE examiner) and tireless attention to detail. I am kind and an attentive listener. I won an 'Excellence in Teaching Award' in 2017 (voted by students) which holds pride of place on my bookshelf! Literature is a reflection of humanity and society. All that romance, heartbreak, reckless abandon, defying the odds and underdogs reaching their dreams. We live it everyday. How inspiring is that?! My teaching style is structured and tailored to the individual student's needs. Previous Head of Schools have acknowledged my consistently high results. I am ranked as an 'Outstanding Teacher'. I like to make lessons as interactive as possible. I am Northern Irish, and I have travelled the world over as an International School teacher. Meeting new people and exploring new places has been my life's hobby! I love to take long, leisurely walks and hope to be a dog owner one day soon. Dogs are truly the best. Helping people is a natural tendency for me and gives me a buzz. I have a lot of empathy for teenagers going through exams as I vividly recall feeling academic pressure at high school. If I can make things a smidgen easier, then that makes me happy :) Over the course of my 17 year career, I have taught all exam boards for GCSE and AS level, having experience as a GCSE examiner. I am also an experienced MYP and IBDP teacher.
