A bit about David M

I have always been a keen mathematician since my  early school days. First taking the then O level a year early, and then the full A level a year early as well. Both passed with grade A's. I went on to study Mathematics at the University of London. Gaining my BSc in 1989. I enjoy problem solving and bringing a developed understanding out in my students. I can teach students to GCSE and A level in "Pure Core" and "Mechanics". I will work at the pace set by the student to ensure that the basic understanding is firmly in place before tackling the more challenging parts of the syllabus. But I am happy  to tackle only the students difficulties if that's preferred. Over 5000 hours private tutoring completed I specialise in all levels of mathematics. From Key stage 3 through to further maths A level. I work at the pace dictated by the student and the parent to get the student the grade needed for continued education or work placement. Mechanics is the topic in which I excelled at University, and this is a common difficulty for A level students I have probably been tutoring since my childhood, Always helping friends at school and siblings of friends at home. In 2015 my daughter started her A level and I was surprised how much of my knowledge was still current to the course, this started a path for me back into education and in 2018/9 I started Tutoring as my full time occupation. Most of my spare time now is devoted to furthering my knowledge on the critical parts of the course to highlight to students the necessary skills and understanding of the individual core topics. It's never too late to learn something new. Often a student will come up with an idea that's new for the solution of a problem. This is fantastic, we all see things in different ways and although we all have our tried and trusted methods its never too late to learn something new,
