A bit about Amali

My specialisms are Business Studies/Business and Accounting (Financial Accounting, Management Accounting and Strategic Management Accounting) My career in Business and Accounting started with industry experience gained in accounting and auditing of various private limited and multi-national companies. However, I realized that I possess a greater potential and as such changed my career to teaching. From 2005, I was employed as a Business Studies and Accounting teacher at two Secondary schools (High School and Sixth form College). Three years in one school, and thereafter fifteen years in the next school. I am extremely passionate about teaching business as a subject and dedicate my time and energy to recognize the knowledge level and the learning capacity of my students, thereafter I model the lesson to suit that particular student group, and scaffold the lesson with different activities to make the lesson interesting. This entails Kahoot and quiz-based activities, video presentations, related case discussions and also past paper question activities. I strive for excellence and as such make sure if not all, most doubts are cleared, before making progress with a lesson, by adapting a lesson or part of the lesson to suit the low-ability students, while teaching to the top. This enables all students to progress. I plan my lesson mainly focusing on the student's curriculum intent. Thereafter, I discuss with the student and make a scheme of work and then plan the lessons accordingly. For example, if a student wants to learn Accounting, first I would find out the level of double entry knowledge the student has, and if the student needs to enhance the knowledge of double entry, I first plan the lessons starting from that point going forward. I first started tutoring about 15 years ago and have been online tutoring since 2019. Thereafter, I have been tutoring many students online in Business as well as Accounting, for mainly iGCSE, GCSE and A-Level Business as well as for iGCSE, IAL and AAT Accounting.
