A bit about Claire P

My degree is biology based however I also tutor and examine combined science GCSE and IGCSE so am well qualified and experienced to deliver the content for chemistry and physics as well. I currently tutor key stage 3 science, GCSE biology, GCSE combined science and IGCSE combined and co-ordinated science. I usually break the session into small chunks. We will start by recapping the previous session before moving on to new content. Scientific skills, maths skills and exam technique will be included in each session to give students the chance to practise applying knowledge. I believe learning should be fun and engaging and this means using different teaching styles. Confidence is an important factor in students achieving well. I believe patience and positive feedback is the key to building confidence which leads to improved results. I love what science teaches us about the world and how it constantly changes as developing technology allows new information to be discovered. I think science can teach us that it is OK to struggle with new concepts and new ideas as some of the most famous scientists in the world have 'got things wrong' at some point.
