A bit about Akshay K

Hello, my name is Akshay. I am a graduate in Mathematical Economics from Delhi School Of Economics (Gold medalist at Undergraduate level) and currently tutoring University level and IB/A levels Economics and Maths with over 6 years of tutoring experience and a success rate of more than 85%. I have also mentored and tutored students across top UK Universities like Oxford, LSE, Warwick, UCL, Bristol, Manchester, Nottingham, Kings College, Queen Mary to name a few. I prefer to teach through interactive whiteboard and my notes will help sum up the whole lesson. I am flexible with timings and available for tutoring lessons and would love to offer first lesson for free to discuss course outline and plan lessons ahead ! I specialise in tutoring IB/A levels Maths as well as University level Quantitative Economics. My lesson are quite well structured in terms of explaining the math and equations right from basics to advanced level. I prefer to give a lot of practice problems and mock tests as math is all about practice, practice...! I started tutoring immediately after I completed my Postgraduation in Quantitative Economics since 2016. The topics are teach are all full of equations and algebra, graphs and numerical problems, I like to use an interactive whiteboard to do a lot of math problems with students hence building their confidence! I prefer to use an interactive whiteboard to teach along with recorded lectures and notes for summary and revision, after every topic, I prefer to take mock tests to analyse the student performance and work on the weaknesses specific to that student. I also prepare a time lines for students to help them organise their personal study. I think its the organised way in which I deliver my lectures starting concepts from scratch and slowly building up the topic in a structured way that helps students to grasp the topic and be well prepared for their exams, I also motivate my students to accomplish the targets they have set which builds confidence in them to achieve what they want to ! I love to coach them and help them achieve their targets! I think the answer to my greatest success is not just one story but several success stories of students who have passed out of high school and are studying at reputed universities across the globe and university students who have passed out degree and are doing well in their careers be it banking, finance, data science etc Masters in Quantitative Economics from Delhi School of Economics Undergraduate Economics honours from University of Delhi My parents inspired me to become a teacher and a mentor when i was 17. I am extremely happy with where I am today helping hundreds of students every year to accomplish their goals and do well in their careers. Also, my communication skills and willingness to spread knowledge inspired me to get into tutoring! I love outdoor sports like soccer and occasionally involve myself in playing this sport. I also practice Yoga for the peace of mind. I am a decent chess player when it comes to indoor games. I like reading some books on Finance and tips and tricks for investing in stocks. I teach high school level IB/ A levels as well as University level students. So students are mostly 17+ and are adults! I am well versed with Edexcel/ AQA and IB board curriculum. Having spent a good amount in India, I am also aware about teaching CBSE Board curriculum as well as GCSE curriculum.
