A bit about Anna O

I am fully qualified and experienced secondary school teacher. I tutor History GCSE and KS3, Maths KS3 and 11+. My students have described me as warm and funny but also with high expectations, so our lessons would be enjoyable but I will aim to push you ! I love teaching History as it allows you to have an opinion and argue a case which is an invaluable tool to have. It also encourages critical thinking and challenging the status quo which is increasingly important in an era of fake news. History is also so broad and encompasses many themes such as race, gender, religion, philosophy, music- just about anything! I am a warm and kind teacher who works to developing positive relationships with students in order to help achieve their goals. I will work alongside what students feel are their gaps in knowledge and what I judge to be an area needing improvement and will teach according to these indicators. I have a Professional Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) for Secondary teaching achieved through University College London (UCL) (2022) I have achieved QTS (2021) I have a BA in History from the University of Warwick (2019) I am very creative and love music and art. I am always singing or creating something most recently trying out pottery. I also enjoy staying active. I run, dance, and enjoy being out in nature.
