A bit about Claire P

I deliver Apprenticeship /Diplomas programmes in Leadership & Management both Level 3 & 5, Business Administration L3 and Customer Service L3. Using my extensive knowledge I can also deliver associated business subject matter. I became an Assessor originally in 1997 and progressed to Internal Quality Assurer then External Quality Assurer. At around the same time I became a registered associate inspector for the Adult Learning Inspectorate of work-based learning, adult & Community and Job Centre Plus. I was also registered with the Welsh inspection agency EYSTYN. I enjoyed the role very much and then the Adult Learning Inspectorate was taken over by Ofsted. My subsequent roles have evolved from teaching to supporting under motivated learners to achieve their chosen qualifications, bit of a trouble shooter! I live in a North-West town with my 2 cats, Sheba and Aramis. I like keeping active and usually go to the gym for a workout and a swim. I like cooking or rather experimenting! Love most types of music current long standing favourites are Bruce Springsteen/Rod Stewart. I am a kind, sensitive soul, with a great dry sense of humour or so my friends tell me! I like trying to support all types of people to achieve the learning and development goals. Discussion on the planned unit/module, sharing of resources, set questionnaires to test understanding, final piece is setting a written assignment within a set structure. Finally a review of progress/action plan to track individual progress. I enjoy sharing my knowledge and providing appropriate information for learners to achieve. I get great pleasure when my students achieve their qualification. It means I've given them sufficient information and they have demonstrated their understanding very well. Most students appreciate my one to one approach, and the fact that I am empathetic, provide constructive feedback and encourage them to work to a higher standard that they have done previously. I mainly work with Post 16 employed students who wish to add to their existing qualifications. Providing theory on Leadership & Managers, and supporting them to consider how to act in a more professional capacity. Producing well written management style reports. Mainly Institute of Leadership & Management, City & Guilds awarding bodies.
