A bit about Georgina

I have been a primary school teacher for 25 years. In that time I have taught all primary school year groups, either full time or as a supply teacher. I have also worked as a 1 to 1 tutor for keystage 2 pupils as part of the National Tutoring Programme. My degree is in Primary Education with Mathematics, so I have experience with higher level Maths. I also have a great deal of experience with phonics and early reading. I have led this area of the curriculum, as well as developing and implementing booster materials ahead of the year 1 phonics check. I have been involved in administering keystage 1 SATs and provided pre-SATs tuition for groups of year 6 children. My students love my sense of humour! I always develop great relationships with students and treat them with kindness and respect. I am very patient and always listen carefully to students ideas or worries so that I can find the best way to help them. Students also love my fun, engaging lessons and my clear, step-by-step approach. I have always wanted to be a teacher from the age of 12. I enjoy learning new things and helping others to learn. My inspiration came from teachers I had in Primary school and the care they showed towards their pupils. The best thing about teaching is that moment when a child suddenly understands something they had difficulty with before - it's a great moment for the teacher and the student! I am also very proud to have inspired my daughter to follow in my footsteps and become a teacher herself.
