A bit about Megan L

I have been a secondary school science teacher for 5 years and an AQA examiner for the third time this year. I work primarily with year 11 GCSE students to best prepare them for their GCSE examinations, working closely with students of all abilities. My specialism lies within the disciplines of Biology and Physics, however I also have a strong grasp on the Chemistry curriculum. As an AQA examiner I have an excellent understanding of what the examiners are looking for and the demands of the mark scheme. I specialise in teaching both Biology and Physics. In particular, exam skills and preparation. I am able to work with students of all abilities. From those who struggle with the subject to support their understanding, to those who wish to stretch their grade and aim higher. The aspect of my teaching that my students comment the most on is my ability to build their confidence and resilience. Mistakes are always welcome in my classroom as they provide room for growth, and prove a willingness to apply your knowledge. With every mistake, you are one step closer to success. The structure of a session will depend heavily on the needs of the student. Most sessions will involve some initial questions to ascertain understanding, before moving on to focus on exam questions and technique.
