A bit about Aman S

I am a tutor with over 2 years experience tutoring Maths, English, Science and Geography to GCSE level. I am currently working as a tutor for the local council, tutoring students who are not in education due to behavioural or medical reasons, or who are suffering with anxiety, or who have arrived from overseas and don't have a school placement. I specialise in Maths, English, Science and Geography from primary school all the way up to GCSE. I use approaches which are engaging and help keep students’ knowledge flowing. Students feel more comfortable and confident as they have someone to relate to and trust. I usually plan out lessons with initial assessment and then working out what areas students need to improve in and what they are confident in. If students are in months before their GCSEs I will tailor lessons to cover the required content and make sure they are confident for their exams. I first started tutoring in 2022 as a part time job whilst at university studying to be a pastry chef. Since March 2023 I have been tutoring students who haven’t got school placements and have been provided with tuition by the council. The best thing about teaching my subjects is that I have a way to make students understand topics they didn't know previously. I am able to break down methods and diagrams to make students think “Wow, I can’t believe I didn't know this before!”, giving them my students more confidence. I use assessments, diagrams and past exam questions to help students practise and know what they need to learn for their exams. I also use videos and whiteboard demonstrations to show students how to get to the finish line with questions. My favourite thing about being a tutor is I get to relate to students being quite young myself. The students feel comfortable and confident knowing they have someone not too much older than them to help. The recent changes in the GCSE spec is something I went through too, so while it being fresh in my mind, I can ensure the students are getting the right content. I have GCSEs and A-levels as well as safeguarding course qualifications I can teach EDEXCEL and AQA, and tutor from primary all the way to GCSE I used to be a pastry chef, so pastry and cooking overall is my favourite hobby! My experience back in school inspired me to become a tutor where I can teach students the way I learned in school My lessons are fun and engaging. I help my students to stick to a topic until they fully understand it Seeing students smile when they understand a topic they didn't understand before I have been tutoring GCSE Maths, Science and English to students who are not in education due to behavioural or medical reasons.
