A bit about Anderson R

Hello, I’m Andy and I’m a qualified teacher of Science. I offer tutoring in all sciences up to KS4 and Physics only at KS5. I have had very good success with my students in my past teaching roles and I would be delighted to help you to achieve your goals! I specialise in the Sciences. My A level tutoring specialist subject is Physics. I can teach to all exam boards. I have a very good understanding of what examiners would like to see on your papers! My lessons are engaging and I will always try to teach you methods to help making the content enter your long term memory. There will be lots of opportunities for practice and recall. I also like to model answers for you I have only recently started tutoring as I have just left full time teaching I love to take my students on a journey to understanding the subjects I’m teaching and love when I help them to get to the point when they realise it’s not that hard but logical! I always say to my students that what I do is get them to explain common sense which they already have. I like to ask a lot of questions! This helps you to do a lot of recall of things you already know but didn’t think you knew! I incorporate lots of opportunities to practice and each lesson will have a feature to recall things that you have been previously taught I love lightbulb moments and I like the 1-1 interaction with my students. I can really gauge their understanding. Also I love to know that I am making a difference and helping them on their journey. My teaching philosophy is simply that you can transform lives through learning. The subjects you are learning now are simply stepping stones to get you to the destination that you want after full time education. I have vast experience in working in industry before I came into teaching. My students love my calm demeanour and my humour. They quickly trust me to help them and they know I will try very hard to ensure that they understand what I am trying to teach. I have had some A level Physics students who I initially thought should not be doing the subject. But the sparks begun to appear and with my help their grades improved significantly. I felt so proud of them. I have a QTS, MSc, BSc and an NPQH After working for many years in the engineering field, I decided to become a teacher because I wanted to give something back. I have always mentored young people in a lot of my previous non teaching roles and so I decided that teaching would be my next career
