A bit about Alexandra N

I am a friendly and approachable foreign languages teacher of more than five years, currently teaching at a grammar school in Reading. I specialise in French, German and Spanish, having studied all three of these languages at the University of Exeter. I have since done a PGCE in Modern Foreign Languages and have extensive tutoring experience. Having been in an enthusiastic language learning family, I developed a love of different countries and the languages they speak. I subsequently studied French, German and Spanish at the University of Exeter. I then realised I wanted to share my passion for languages and decided to do a PGCE. I haven't looked back since! Outside of teaching, I walk my two dogs in the woods near my house and run with them daily. I cycle to school every day and am getting into mountain bike riding. I have a massive love of literature - in any language! I try to have a French, German and Spanish book on the go at the same time as an English book! I am currently an examiner for AQA, specialising in GCSE German, however I have experience of teaching the curriculum for French and Spanish AQA GCSE also. I teach from KS3 up to KS5 in all 3 of my subjects. I can also teach these subjects at KS2 level. I enjoy teaching all year groups! My favourite thing about being a tutor is being able to share my passion of languages with my students. I love it when one of my students, who has been struggling with a particular grammar point for example, is able to use correct grammar and is able to then prove to themselves that they can do it! Languages are a great confidence booster and I love being able to enable my students to express themselves and develop their communication skills!
