A bit about Warren B

Hello there, I am an ex-primary school teacher turned software engineer with professional experience of python. I have an excellent knowledge of GCSE and A Level Computer Science and AQA and Edexcel exams. Additionally, my degree was in English Literature and I have tutored GCSE English for many years and am familiar with the AQA exams. I have been helping children pass their 11+ exams for the last 5 years and I have experience with the CEM, GL and CSSE exams. I can also offer strong knowledge of the primary school curriculum and have 4 years' experience of the SATs tests. I started teaching in 2014 and I have been tutoring since 2018. I enjoy programming outside of teaching and am proficient in Python and Java. I have 9 years' teaching experience throughout KS1 and KS2, and I have substantial SATs and 11+ knowledge. I enjoy seeing children rapidly progress both socially and academically. I also have 3 years of experience tutoring KS3 and KS4 English. I have always enjoyed making a difference to peoples’ lives and I have found that this has led to some really exciting life experiences such as: getting to know children and families whilst volunteering as a youth worker in my late teens; helping to organise and run children’s activities whilst living in New Zealand; helping out with community projects for 2 months in Fiji; working as a secondary school mentor whilst a student at university; and helping to organise and lead activities to children at an orphanage in Zimbabwe. I became a primary school teacher in 2014 and it was in this capacity that I began to teach block coding during computing lessons. I enjoyed the concept of coding and began to teach myself python in my free time. After becoming proficient at python, I changed career and became a professional software engineer in the finance industry in 2023.
