A bit about Shemoley

AVAILABLE IMMEDIATELY IN SEPTEMBER. I am a fully qualified teacher and have been teaching Mathematics for over 10 years. I am a current Edexcel Examiner for iGCSE Mathematics, and I have experience tutoring Edexcel, OCR and AQA exam boards. I also work with home-schooled students who will be sitting the Maths iGCSE. I was at my last high school for 8 years, teaching GCSE and A Level Mathematics. For GCSE I taught the new spec for grade 1-9 system. Over the years, I have worked with high ability students, many of whom achieved a grade 9, as well as foundation grade students, enabling them to grasp skills that will help them navigate through adult life. Mathematical reasoning, fluency and problem solving are at the forefront of my lessons as this is what the new GCSE spec entails. I am a graduate from Queen Mary University with a Bachelors Honours degree in Economics and Finance. I studied Mathematics, Further Mathematics and Accounting for my A Levels. I have always loved Maths from a very young age and this passion has not left me. It is this passion that drives me to help others achieve the best they can and more in their education. I have worked with students with special educational needs as well as looked after children. If you want to get better at Maths, then look no further. I love Maths! And because I love Maths, my students appreciate that passion and feel encouraged and engaged in my lessons. Best of all, they always feel that they are learning. As every student is an individual this also means their learning style varies too. I like to get to know my students in order to implement strategies that will maximise their learning experience. I tend to use interleaved practice in my teaching so that students constantly have to tackle questions from previous and parents topics they are studying. This is to ensure that topics they have covered in their past are not simply just forgotten, they can be retrieved easily. For GCSE students, exam questions are embedded into their lessons throughout the year; not just before their exams only. I love to watch my students progress and to go from hating maths to liking or even loving maths! I teach students from year 6 to year 11. I can help prepare students for SATs and GCSEs. I have experience in Edexcel, OCR and AQA exam boards. I am a Pearson Edexcel examiner for iGCSE Mathematics. I am a qualified Mathematics teacher (PGCE with QTS) for almost 10 years. I have a Bachelors Honours Degree in Economics and Finance from Queen Mary University of London. I am a Pearson Edexcel examiner.
