A bit about Emily G

I am a qualified primary school teacher with lots of experience in KS1 and KS2. I am passionate about giving students that extra support to ensure they feel confident and are achieving their true potential! I love reading and enjoy hearing about what new books my students are reading. I believe in making learning an enjoyable and engaging experience to fully achieve the best in students. I am excellent at time management, very organised and plan high quality lessons to achieve good outcomes. I take a student-centred approach to teaching, putting students at the forefront of the learning process, recognising their individual needs and strengths. I foster a positive and supportive learning environment where students feel confident and together we can optimise learning outcomes, promote a deeper understanding and strive for academic success! Through positive, enjoyable and engaging learning activities, students always feel encouraged, motivated and valued. My emphasis on engaging lessons creates an enthusiasm for subjects, makes learning relevant and enhances the overall learning experience. All of my lessons are planned according to each individual student and their personal needs. Typically, I always ensure to include a starter activity to warm up your brain and introduce the learning topic, engaging students into the lesson. In the main section of the lesson, I always start with activities where I provide lots of support and input, as students increase in confidence and understanding, I encourage them to grow more independent in their work, whilst still being available for support when needed. I incorporate a range of activities that are fun, engaging and challenging such as games, videos, quizzes and questions. I always end my sessions with a short plenary where I can check that students feel confident with the subject and what the next targets to achieve will be.
