A bit about Amirah R

I specialise in English and Psychology. I am in my penultimate year, completing an undergraduate degree in Psychology at QMUL. I also did English as part of my A-Levels due to my success in GCSEs. I am proficient in teaching maths to a primary level and have tutored religious studies as part of their short course exams in KS3. I intend to complete a PGCE course after graduation. My teaching philosophy is always to intend to reach your potential in learning. Despite the many struggles and challenges students face in learning, effort and the willingness to improve is part of my ethos. With my experience in tutoring, positive attitudes and effort have always resulted in confidence in their abilities. First, I make sure to have a complete curriculum sheet according to their year and exam board with me. Then, I go through the weaknesses and strengths in the topic that needs improvements. Lesson by lesson, sheets will be given out to increase their confidence and ability to clear any confusion in the topics. At monthly intervals, a complete test on covered topics and topics on the curriculum will be given out. From there progress scores and further topic weaknesses will be identified and improved. I have two years of experience in tutoring. I currently tutor at the Boost Education Centre in-personal and online. I teach all year groups up till A-Level. I adjust my teaching to the appropriate exam board.
