A bit about Sophia K

I’m currently a sixth-form student with a passion for Economics, 3D Design, and French. I speak three languages: English, French, and Creole. I aspire to work in architecture and believe that my diverse background and experience can help students learn in a more holistic and engaging way. In addition to tutoring, I’ve been involved in various community projects, from fundraising for girls’ toilets in Uganda to volunteering at the Fatima Elizabeth Institute. My goal is to inspire and support my students, helping them achieve their best academically and personally. My favourite thing about being a tutor is being able to change the journey of students, being able to mentor and guide students into a pathway of success. These changes impact a students life for the rest of their academic journey. • Interactive Learning: I incorporate interactive activities and real-life examples to make lessons engaging and relatable. This helps students understand abstract concepts by connecting them to everyday experiences. • Problem-Solving Skills: I encourage students to tackle problems independently first, then guide them through the solution. This builds critical thinking and boosts their confidence. • Feedback and Improvement: Regular feedback is crucial. I provide constructive feedback on assignments and tests, highlighting areas for improvement and strategies to enhance performance. • Personalised Learning Plans: Each student receives a tailored learning plan that targets their specific strengths and weaknesses, ensuring focused and effective learning sessions. Typical Length of a Lesson: A typical lesson lasts about 60 minutes. This duration is optimal for maintaining focus and ensuring that students absorb the material without feeling overwhelmed. The lesson is divided into three parts: 1. Review (10 minutes): We start by reviewing previous lessons and addressing any questions. 2. New Material (40 minutes): This is the core of the lesson, where new topics are introduced and explored. 3.
