A bit about Rebecca K

My qualified specialism is in the subject of English. Due to experience, I also specialise in Drama, presenting skills and Speaking and Listening. I am qualified at Primary Level but I also have experience teaching soft skills and functional skills to older children and youth. I have a BA Hons in Primary Education with Qualified Teacher Status. I am a creative and fun teacher, who has loved to travel since a young age. I have taught within the British system but also Internationally. I have creatively trained youth in Mechanised Agriculture. I have taught and delivered Drama in workshops and also directed full performances at local theatres. I am a mother of two children. One is a teenager, whom I have homeschooled from Africa for 12 years. I also have a 4-year-old who is just starting his educational journey in the UK. I love helping people, especially children to find their spark and utilise their skills and talents to the benefit of all. I am passionate about health and wellbeing and the development of all nations so there may be more equality of resources in the world. I always plan a great lesson but I am passionate about letting the individual guide their own learning so my lessons are always flexible. If something isn't working or is not motivating I always shift the focus. I love to use great resources in my lessons and I encourage the students to utilise their own resources too. The lesson will always be evaluated after as to whether it worked and where to go to next. Both the teacher and student take part in the evaluation. I love English Literacy. I love reading books and analysing language and therefore I love to ignite another fellow reader into engaging and interpreting texts. I also love seeing my students excel in their performance and speaking and listening skills. I especially love when a student performs a poem or script or just reads with the emotion and passion we explored within the text. I love to get to know students individually. I love the personalised approach to their learning as no one student is the same. I like to learn from every interaction and student, so that I can better facilitate their learning and development. I have taught Primary National Curriculum. I have taught Primary International Curriculum I have taught Early Years through to Year 6. I have also supply taught all Secondary Levels and homeschooled Year 7 and 8. I have taught extra curricular activities to all age groups. I have also taught babies and toddlers Sing and Sign.
