A bit about Bradley C

I have been working in education since I graduated from the University of Sheffield in 2010 with my Bachelor's in Physics (Hons). I have a diverse background in teaching, having started my career as a teaching assistant at a primary school before becoming an English as a foreign language instructor in South Korea, and more recently as a science teacher at two state comprehensives since completing my PGCE with the University of Sussex in 2021. I love sharing my passion and understanding with students and seeing their confidence in (and love of) science grow! I am a kind, patient and warm person and I think this is reflected in my teaching style. I know that science (and especially physics) can be quite a challenging subject for many students, and my priority is making students feel at ease as I guide them towards better understanding of often tricky concepts and ideas. I do this via a collaborative approach, where I use conversation, discussions of real life examples, diagrams and practice questions to develop my students' level of understanding and to identify and remedy any misconceptions they may have. My focus is always on making my students active participants in the teaching and learning process. What I love most about teaching science is when I see my students start to connect the dots between the ideas they learn in the classroom and their lived experiences out in the real world. Science is about being curious, about wanting to know the answers to questions and about wanting to understand the universe we live in. So if I can get my students to fall into the trap of asking 'Why?' then I am truly happy as they have already become a scientist!
