Are you looking for an experienced, friendly, professional, and enthusiastic private tutor who will design every lesson to meet your goals? Hey, I'm Robbie, and I wanted to take this opportunity to quickly say that if you have had a read of the information on my profile and would like to book an introduction that would be fantastic! Please send a message and we can find a time to have a chat. Parents/guardians are, of course, welcome. If you like we can then arrange a time for a taster session and start doing some Chemistry. I specialise in tutoring Chemistry at GCSE and A Level. I have exceptionally strong subject knowledge having studied the subject at the University of Nottingham (Chemistry MSci, 1st Class) and Durham University (Chemistry PhD). I began tutoring GCSE and A Level students during my undergraduate studies and now have substantial experience. My enjoyment of teaching and my skills have been enhanced by contributing to undergraduate learning at Durham University during my PhD studies. During my time at Durham I have won an award, and cash prize, for my teaching. My teaching style, first and foremost, is what a student will respond best to. I believe one-to-one tuition is such an effective way to enhance learning because it allows the tutor to constantly check in and receive feedback from the tutee. I regularly ask students how they are finding the material we cover, how they are finding my teaching, and if they want me to adapt their tuition. I believe being enthusiastic, positive, and generally personable is a really important component of my teaching style. I remember how stressful studying for GCSE and A Level exams can be so I hope that my students come away from each session feeling good about their progress and a bit better about their exams. I plan and prepare material for every tutoring session I deliver. As such I need to know what exam board and course my students are taking so that I can consult their syllabi and ensure I cover all the required material. Furthermore, I plan with students ahead of each lesson and agree what topic we are going to cover. I am a big believer in practicing exam questions and the learning resources I prepare for students will always have exam questions in them for us to review together.
