A bit about Dan

I am a Qualified Teacher with seven years experience and a track record of students achieving the highest grades and significantly above target. I have been a Head of Department and a Head of Year. I am currently an Examiner. I teach Geography at Key Stage 3 and at GCSE. I have experience of teaching AQA and EDUQAS, however, I am able to teach across all exam boards. I specialise in making learning an enjoyable experience which boosts confidence and academic progress. This is the case for Key Stage 3 and GCSE. At GCSE, I teach students how to revise through retrieval practice and interleaving. Furthermore, there is a focus on exam strategies and exam question technique. Finally, to achieve the highest grades, I support students to develop a wider geographical knowledge and make links to their local geography. I am a keen adventurer in my local area and like to travel. I live along the River Severn so spend a lot of time running, cycling, and kayaking. Likewise, I like to spend time walking in the local forest. I am looking forward to spending time in Germany and Belgium over New Year. In addition, I am planning a month long trip to New Zealand for 2025.
