Qualifications: I graduated in (Human) Geography then completed a Masters in Equal Opportunities in Education - both in Manchester. More recently I've completed a CELTA (Certificate for Teaching English). Experience: it is close to 30 years now in various educational settings & capacities - Universities, Schools in the UK, International Schools in Spain, Academies & in companies. In the last year I've successfully transitioned to teaching & tutoring online alongside developing course materials for all age groups - including International Business Students at the University of Toulouse & I did a month substituting a Geography teacher at a local International School. My specialist subjects include the emerging curriculum areas of Global Perspectives & Cultural Awareness whereby the recommended methodologies encourage & enable students to work in groups, & both present & complete an extended piece of writing on their research. Skills: here with experience honed both as a learning resource specialist & as a coach for verbal dexterity & improved literacy, I am skilled at guiding students towards discoveries & so to effective independent learning. Personality: I am empathetic, friendly & fun (I have three kids at home!) & so can effectively build rapport with students of all age groups to best develop Active Learning - where students are encouraged to shape their learning strategies so to better ensure high motivation, enjoyment & achievement.
