A bit about Katarzyna D

I’m a 4th-year Cambridge student studying Information and Computer Engineering with Bio-engineering. I have a passion for teaching and have been tutoring since 2022, helping students with GCSEs, A-Levels, and university admissions tests like ESAT and PAT. My academic background in Maths, Further Maths, and Physics, combined with my tutoring experience, allows me to break down complex topics and teach them in a clear, structured way. I strive to make learning enjoyable and effective, tailoring lessons to fit each student's unique learning style and needs. I specialise in tutoring Maths and Physics for GCSE and A-Level students, as well as preparing students for university admissions tests like the ESAT (formerly ENGAA and NSAA) and PAT. My focus is on helping students understand challenging concepts, improve problem-solving skills, and build the confidence they need to succeed in their exams and university applications. With a tailored approach, I ensure each lesson is adapted to the student’s individual needs and goals. My lessons are tailored to each student's specific needs and learning style. Typically, we start by identifying any areas of difficulty or topics that need more focus. I then explain the key concepts in a clear and structured way, using examples to illustrate the material. After that, we work through problem-solving exercises and past exam questions to reinforce understanding. I also encourage students to ask questions and engage actively, as I believe interactive learning is essential. Each lesson ends with a recap and a plan for the next session, ensuring steady progress. I first started tutoring in 2020, helping students prepare for their GCSEs and A-Levels. Since then, I’ve expanded my experience to include university admissions test preparation, such as the ESAT and PAT, and have been involved in tutoring through non-profit organisation since 2022. Over the years, I’ve developed my teaching methods to suit different learning styles and help students achieve their academic goals. What I love most about teaching Maths and Physics is the moment when complex concepts finally click for students. Seeing them gain confidence in their abilities and develop problem-solving skills is incredibly rewarding. I enjoy making challenging topics more accessible and showing students that these subjects can be fun and engaging. Helping them succeed and reach their academic goals is what drives my passion for teaching. My teaching style is personalized and student-centered. I focus on adapting each lesson to the student's unique learning needs and pace. I break down complex topics into manageable steps, ensuring clarity and understanding. My approach is interactive—I encourage students to ask questions and actively participate, fostering a deeper understanding of the material. I also emphasize problem-solving and critical thinking, using real-world examples and exam-style questions to build confidence and mastery. Ultimately, my goal is to create a supportive and engaging learning environment where students feel comfortable and motivated to excel. My favourite thing about being a tutor is witnessing the growth and progress of my students. There's nothing more fulfilling than seeing a student's confidence increase as they grasp difficult concepts and overcome challenges. I love being part of their academic journey, helping them achieve their goals, and knowing that my guidance has made a positive impact on their success. The sense of accomplishment that comes with helping students reach their potential is what makes tutoring so rewarding for me. My teaching philosophy is rooted in the belief that every student has the potential to succeed when given the right support and guidance. I focus on creating a positive, encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes as part of the learning process. I believe in tailoring my teaching to each student's individual needs, ensuring they understand the "why" behind concepts, not just the "how." By fostering critical thinking and problem-solving skills, I aim to help students gain confidence and become independent learners who can approach challenges with resilience and curiosity. Students often appreciate the clarity and structure of my teaching style. They love how I break down complex concepts into simple, understandable steps, making challenging topics feel more manageable. Many students also enjoy the interactive nature of my lessons, where I encourage active participation and open discussions. They value the personalized approach I take, adapting each lesson to their specific needs and learning pace. Most importantly, they feel supported and confident in their ability to improve, which helps them stay motivated and engaged throughout their learning journey.
