A bit about Johann B

I have extensive experience in physics as well as chemistry, mathematics, and programming (Java and C++). I did my undergrad with a focus on physics and chemistry as dual majors. My master's degree was in the field of experimental nuclear physics and my Ph.D. was in the field of nuclear astrophysics. All of my degrees were done at Stellenbosch University and awarded with distinction. Altogether over the course of my tertiary education, I received a total of forty distinctions. I am definitely the right person to help a student achieve academic success! I first started tutoring in 2016. I tutored first-year physics students at the University of Stellenbosch. Eventually, I was put in charge of my own group of students that I supported academically. That position lasted for two and a half years until I had to focus more on finishing my Ph.D. More recently, I joined a team of tutors at an online company where online and remote tutoring is conducted. All in all, I have a lot of experience and the complete skillset to help students with the STEM subjects I specialise in. Once my students are mentored by me they start to improve their quality of work. During tutoring sessions, I focus on the specific areas within each subject that a student may struggle with. Together we work through problem questions and by those means, I get a sense of their ability and where I can improve their understanding. It is a very flexible teaching style suited to every individual that I tutor.
