A bit about Julie D

I teach all aspects of music theory and clarinet and piano. I was classed as an outstanding teacher in an OFSTED inspection. I have taught primary, secondary, GCSE and A level. I enjoy teaching and seeing my pupils progress. Clarinet, piano, theory. I teach ABRSM grades 1-8 in these subjects. I also teach sight singing , Key stage 1-3, GCSE composition and A level harmony. I have had over 30 years experience I usually split the lesson into different tasks and work on each task identifying needs and using different materials to aid learning. I write an individualised plan for every lesson I first started tutoring in 2011. Initially I taught piano and clarinet but later added theory and composition. My pupils have gained grades at all levels and I have a 100% pass rate I love music. It communicates the soul. Everyone is a musician and I enjoy finding the musician in each pupil My teaching style is facilitator using a child centered approach BEd music, Post graduate diploma in music and Phd in music psychology I like to craft. I make fluid art jewellery I wrote a large scale musical for choir and pit and and 200 pupils took part. The children benefited greatly with self esteem, self worth and self confidence all growing. With my instrumental teaching one of my pupils now studies at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland My pupils love my teaching style as they feel equal and can ask anything
