A bit about Asif I

I am an experienced primary school teacher and senior leader, currently working as an Academic Coach at university. Includes senior school leadership and academic consultancy across 3 continents, SATs prep and marking and teacher training. I specialise in primary education, Maths, English and the foundation subjects. I am an award winner for Science, History and Geography. I am also an academic coach, supporting degree-level students with their academic writing. I start with a hook: a story introduction or a problem that needs to be solved. We consider the skills and knowledge needed to address the issue and use them to find a solution. Ideally, I aim for long-term independence. Homework, if agreed, will be a follow up that consolidates the skills and knowledge being covered. I have over 25 years teaching experience, some of that in tutoring. I am currently working part-time in HE as well as doing some academic tutoring and coaching. Seeing success; learner independence and building confidence. Interactive; supported by anecdotes and examples. I vary styles; some of it direct input; other instances where I facilitate whilst they practice. Growing people to their potential and inspiring confidence.
