A bit about Andrew B

I have a PhD in Medical Statistics from the University of Cambridge, a first class honours degree in Mathematics with Japanese from the University of Exeter, and A levels in Maths, Further Maths, English Literature, and Spanish. My biggest hobbies are archery, anime and cosplay. I have been doing archery since 2012 and have competed in national competitions, both as a student and in open competitions. I love using anime as practice for Japanese language. I'm also a big fan of baking and regularly bake cookies, brownies, and cakes My favourite thing about tutoring is helping students grow to understand and enjoy a subject that they previously feared and disliked. I love sharing my knowledge and passion with my students, and helping them to reach their full potential I like to come to the table on the same level as my students - working with them to best suit their needs. I teach using as little technical vocabulary as I can, and lots of colour for emphasis. From my experience, the best way to learn something new is by practice. I have a comprehensive knowledge of GCSE maths and further maths, and all topics in A level aside from mechanics. On the university level, I am comfortable with all first year maths, and higher level probability and statistics. I also specialise in consultation for dissertations which require statistics, helping you to plan and conduct analyses in SPSS, Stata, or R. For Japanese, I specialise in teaching beginners - as a language learner myself, I know what were my biggest challenges and how to overcome them
