An engaging PGCE qualified English teacher, I have a wealth of experience with a range of examination boards including AQA, WJEC, Edexcel and Cambridge iGCSE having taught English Language and Literature in secondary schools in Wales, England and overseas in Hong Kong, New Zealand and Dubai. My own passion for English enthuses my lessons and I enjoy using extracts from short stories, novels and poems to illustrate high quality writing. When studying a Literature text like Macbeth or An Inspector Calls for example, it's vital to appreciate the writer's use of language and explore its effect. My challenging questioning allows my pupils to explore layers of meaning and articulate this understanding both verbally and when putting pen to paper. Outside the classroom, I enjoy running, playing football, hiking, reading and cooking. I love discovering new recipes and giving them a go!
