A bit about Arjeta F

I specialise in secondary school level maths, up to and including GCSE level. I aim to build foundations in mathematics and build knowledge as confidence increases. I have 3.5 years experience and am currently tutoring in schools for the National Tutoring Programme. I first started tutoring whilst I was in sixth form, I volunteered to be a tutor and peer mentor to disadvantaged students and fell in love with tutoring. I have since worked as a professional tutor for different schools across the UK, tutoring for the governments' National Tutoring Programme to over 70 students. I tailor each of my lessons to suit each students individual needs, I start off by building the foundations of maths and allowing the student to build on their knowledge in the lesson. I act as a guide to facilitate their learning whilst they make the connections necessary when working on a new topic. This allows my students to be active learners and gets them involved and not just observe the lessons taking place. I have found that this style of teaching yields better results and increases the desire to learn. Maths has always been a big love of mine, I greatly enjoy the logic and reasoning of solving a difficult problem. When I started tutoring, I wanted to spread this mentality and enthusiasm for maths and teach students that they don't have to view maths as just abstract and irrelevant figures that are difficult to understand. I endeavour to help my students change their opinion of maths and all its processes, and to see the beauty in it.
